Portland organization has been fighting racial injustice for years, says change takes time

The continued focus on the damage caused by protesters in Portland is frustrating a lot of people who want to focus on the important issues first raised when the demonstrations started in May.
The No Hate Zone, an organization in Portland, thinks it can bridge that gap. The group says they’ve been talking about issues like police brutality and racial injustice for years.
Experts say to move forward, there need to be honest conversations between law enforcement and people of color. They say the community needs to acknowledge the trauma in order to heal.
A couple leaders within the group No Hate Zone said for change to happen, we need to have patience.
